The Botanical Gardens will be closed to  the public on New Year's Eve and New  Year's Day.  

As a result,  access to Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool on these days will be limited to members who will need to bring their physical membership or learn to swim card with them to gain access to the pool.  

The centre will be open  from 6am to 10am on Sunday 31 December 2023, and from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Monday 1 January 2024.   

Vehicle access to the Botanical Gardens will be restricted over these days. 

Oh Boy Cafe will be closed on New Year's Eve and will reopen on New Year's Day from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre is celebrating its 15 year anniversary this month!

The 50m pool has re-opened (Sunday 9 July) 

Extensive maintenance works will begin in May 2024 after the pool is closed for the cooler months. 

We expect to re-open the upgraded pool in September 2025.

Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool operates seasonally and closes from 1 May to 31 August every year.

The pool will re-open as normal on Saturday 25 March. 

Due to urgent maintenance, the 50m pool at Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool will be closed on Friday 24 March.

 The learn to swim and squad programs will not run, and group fitness will run on a limited timetable.  

Alternate operating hours will be in place for the public holiday on Friday 26 January.

A ‘1 IN, 1 OUT’ rule is now in place, a second FREE PLAY lane will open at 10:30am in the 50m pool. 

The 20m Program Pool has now reached operational capacity. 

In the event any pool reaches its safe operational capacity, a ‘1 in, 1 out’ rule will apply.

High temperatures are forecast on Saturday 9 December during our scheduled open day, and high demand for access to our facilities is to be expected.
