Friday 24 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, also known as White Ribbon Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the prevention of violence by men against women.
As an accredited White Ribbon Workplace the five City of Sydney Aquatic Centres are committed to strengthening a culture of respect and gender equality at all levels of the organisation, as well as supporting all employees to challenge inappropriate behaviour.
For the third year running, the City of Sydney council will be holding a biathlon in support of White Ribbon Day with funds raised going towards White Ribbons ongoing work in reducing violence against women. The lunchtime event will be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Friday 24 November. The pool will be closed for public swimming during this time.
Well done to all those participating in this important cause. Good luck and happy training!
